Created by Cat McKay in her Wellington studio, the collection brings together hand painted, laser cut native rimu with clever recycled and upcycled materials. Each necklace reflects Cat's love of bold design, New Zealand inspiration and transforming interesting materials into something worth wearing.
Native Rimu + Hand Painted
Many of the necklaces begin with beautiful native New Zealand rimu, laser cut into distinctive shapes before being individually hand painted with Cat's vibrant patterns and illustrations. Inspired by Aotearoa's native plants, birds and familiar icons, they offer a colourful, contemporary take on Kiwiana.
Recycled + Reimagined
Other pieces within the collection explore Cat's passion for giving existing materials a new purpose. Items that may otherwise have ended up in landfill are reimagined and transformed into unique jewellery, proving that something discarded can become something completely unexpected.
